Reflexology

Reflexology is a pressure massage to the feet. It is an ancient, pleasurable treatment that takes you into a deep state of relaxation. The principle is that every part of the body, including bones, muscles and organs, has a 'reflex' point on the feet. All these points are stimulated, leaving you feeling as if you've received a full body massage.

Imbalances can be detected in specific areas of the body. Reflexology rejuvenates and re-energizes the mind, body and spirit. It increases vitality and confidence, improves quality of sleep, and induces a feeling of incredible well being.

How Does It Work?

The feet contain a mini-map of the body, the left foot the left side, and the right foot the right side of the body. There are 2000 neurotransmitters between the nerve endings of the feet and the body.

Sensitive, trained hands can detect imbalances in the feet, and by working the appropriate points, release blockages thus restoring the free flow of energy to the whole body. Reflexology relieves congestion and breaks down deposits in the feet, such as Uric acid and Calcium deposits.

This leads to increased blood circulation, aiding the carriage of essential hormones, oxygen and nutrients for cell life. Lymphatic circulation is also improved, aiding the dispersal of waste products.

Your Consultation

Reflexology is carried out with the client fully clothed and reclined. Only socks and shoes are removed. Following some questions about your medical history, your feet are worked on. Each foot is massaged in a steady, rhythmic way, and 'reflex' points corresponding to different parts of the body, are worked into.

The pressure of the massage will be adjusted to suit your needs. It is common to fall asleep during reflexology. The session lasts for a peaceful hour.
